Oboist Dr. Tracy Carr, a founding member of Trio Encantada, is active as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician, clinician and adjudicator.  Recent performances, presentations, and master classes include venues in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Her international performance and presentation venues include the International Double Reed Society International Conference in Greensboro, N.C., and Austin, Texas; the College Music Society International Conference in Muelle, Costa Rica, and Madrid, Spain; the Hawaii International Arts and Humanities Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii; and conservatories in Chengdu, China.

Tracy’s past orchestral experience includes the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra, the New England Philharmonic, the Eastern Connecticut Symphony and the Rome Festival Orchestra. She currently performs with the Roswell (N.M.) Symphony and annually with the Eisenstadt Choral and Orchestral Festival each summer in Eisenstadt, Austria.

Dr. Carr is currently associate professor of double reeds and music history at Eastern New Mexico University. In addition to teaching double reeds and music history, she also teaches music appreciation and double reed methods class.  She received degrees from the University of Southern California, Miami University and the University of Rhode Island. Past faculty appointments include the University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton School of Music and the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

Tracy’s biography has been included in the 2005 edition of the Empire Who’s Who of Executive, Professionals and Entrepreneurs in America, and the 2006, 2007 and 2008 edition of Marquis Who’s Who in America.
