Dr. John Olsen, Chair of the Department of Music and Professor of Piano has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe as both soloist and chamber musician.

With links to the great Russian romantic school of pianism, Dr. Olsen has studied and coached with Daniel Pollack, Robert Goldsand, Constance Keene and Rosina Lhevinne. He holds degrees from the Hartt School of Music, the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Southern California.

In great demand, as an adjudicator and clinician, John Olsen has recently adjudicated competitions in Utah, California, Texas, Montana, Washington, Arizona and New Mexico. He has been on the piano faculty at Eastern New Mexico University since 1989.
